Establishing professional contacts and expanding resources seemed like a challenging assignment. I was not sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I always wanted to learn more about international countries. I decided to contact a member of The Global Alliance of NAEYC in Canada and a member of UNICEF in Honduras. As of now, I have not yet heard anything from either one. I'm hoping something will come along later this week.
Honestly, I have hardly ever browse international organizations that focus on early childhood education. As a part of this assignment, I came across to:
http://www.savethechildren.org/site/c.8rKLIXMGIpI4E/b.6540957/k.AD3E/HrNew_Volunteers.htm
I started to realize that there are rich information in different websites. I selected Save the Children based on the fact that it supports children in 120 countries including United States. Through this, I hope to learn much more about Early Childhood Education.
I have sent out 3 emails so far and one came back undeliverable and I haven't heard back from the other 2 yet, but I hope to hear back from them soon. In the mean time I will continue to send out more emails in hopes to make contact with someone. What do you plan on doing if you don't hear back from your choices, which I hope you do hear back from them.
ReplyDeleteThe website you chose sounds very interesting and I can't wait to hear what you are learning. It is great to see organizations that help so many people.
Good Luck!
Good luck with your contacts. I have finally heard back from one of my emails. I am still sending more out hoping to get a reply.
ReplyDeleteI haven’t heard of your website choice before. I will be very interested to learn more about it and how I can incorporate it into my own resources.
I think it is exciting to be able to contact other ECH professionals and hopefully learn more about the field around the world. I have not heard back yet either but hope I will. I know two professionals in town that have had contact with ECH professionals in Africa and Asia, so I am trying to get a contact from them incase I do not hear from my own.
